Modern Nginx Configuration for Zero-Trust High-Throughput Web Servers

Default Nginx configurations lack critical HTTP security headers, utilize legacy Gzip compression, and expose backend application servers to brute-force credential stuffing and denial-of-service spikes. Hardening Nginx on modern Ubuntu 24.04 LTS servers requires compiling dynamic Brotli modules, enabling modern HTTP/3 over QUIC (UDP 443), and configuring granular request rate limiting zones.
